Policy summary and prohibited activity
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) explains what is and is not allowed when using OULU CLOUD services. It supplements your service agreement and the Terms of Service. We may update this policy from time to time.
OULU CLOUD supports lawful and responsible use of the internet. Because abuse can affect our network, our customers, upstream providers, and third parties, we reserve the right to investigate and take action when prohibited activity is detected.
You may not send unsolicited bulk email, mass commercial messages, or spam of any kind through our network. Open SMTP relays are also prohibited.
Accounts involved in spam may be suspended or terminated after investigation. A spam-related cleanup or handling fee of up to USD 250 may apply.
IRC-related use may be allowed only if it does not abuse resources or disrupt other users. If IRC activity creates instability, attacks, or complaints, we may suspend the affected service.
Adult content is not permitted on OULU CLOUD services. Services hosting or distributing such content may be suspended or terminated immediately.
Services intended to function as public or circumvention proxies are not allowed. This includes, without limitation, VPNs, Shadowsocks, SSR, V2Ray, Trojan, OpenVPN, WireGuard, and similar proxy or tunneling software used to bypass network restrictions.
Telecom fraud, phishing, impersonation, online scams, and related activity are strictly prohibited. Violating services may be suspended immediately and reported to law enforcement where required.
You may not use our network to advertise, transmit, store, display, or otherwise make available child sexual abuse material, obscene material, or other illegal content. Where required, we will report such material to the relevant authorities.
Torrent services, torrent trackers, public file mirroring used for abuse, and similar high-risk distribution tools are prohibited on our servers, including so-called legal torrents where they create abuse or network risk.
A cleanup or investigation fee of up to USD 100 may be charged for torrent-related abuse.
You may not forge packet headers, email headers, source identity, or other technical information in order to hide the origin of traffic or deceive recipients.
Unauthorized access to any computer, account, network, or data is prohibited. This includes attempts to bypass security controls, exploit vulnerabilities, perform port scanning, stealth scanning, or collect information for intrusion purposes.
You may not create, distribute, or facilitate viruses, worms, trojans, botnets, flooding, mail bombing, denial-of-service attacks, or other destructive behavior. Activity that interferes with another user, system, network, or service is prohibited.
You may not advertise, distribute, or provide software, scripts, products, or services designed to violate this AUP, including tools for spam, traffic floods, credential theft, piracy, or service attacks.
You must comply with all applicable export control laws, sanctions, and trade restrictions when using our services.
Any activity that OULU CLOUD reasonably determines to be illegal, fraudulent, harmful to our network, harmful to our reputation, or harmful to other customers is prohibited, whether or not it is specifically listed above.
This includes, for example, Ponzi schemes, pyramid schemes, card fraud, software piracy, and any service that creates repeated abuse complaints or threatens normal platform operations.
OULU CLOUD does not routinely monitor private customer communications, but we may investigate abuse, monitor service health, preserve logs, disclose information when legally required, and take reasonable action to protect our systems, customers, and third parties.
Customers who provide services to their own end users must cooperate with any corrective action that we reasonably require. Failure to cooperate is itself a violation of this AUP.
OULU CLOUD reserves the right to modify this AUP at any time without separate notice. Please review this page regularly for updates.
